An Avadian Kind of Person

In my family, we were all taught that if you see a chance to help someone, it is your responsibility to help. My sisters and I grew up watching our parents doing things for other people.

So one day, I’m at Avadian to talk about a car loan. When I came outside, it was getting close to dark and a young woman was frantic in the parking lot. She had a flat tire and she was very upset about it. I don’t think she’d been driving that long and she’d never had something like this happen. I did what my parents taught me and I got out my tools and changed her tire.

By the time I’d finished, the branch had closed and everyone was leaving. They all stopped to say thank you, but really I was just happy to help.

Well, the next time I went in to the branch, I was the only one in there. Everyone was looking and smiling at me. I could tell something was happening. The branch manager comes over and hands me an envelope that they’ve decorated with my name in bright red marker. Inside is an email, confirming two tickets to a University of Alabama football game! They told me that they’d called my boss to make sure I was not working that weekend! Can you imagine?

I’m a big fan but I’ve never been to a game in real life. My hands were shaking. My sister and I are going for the first time!

They told me that they appreciate people who are willing to help others. That I’m an inspiration and I am an Avadian-kind-of-person. I never expected something like this, especially from a business. But then I guess Avadian is not like any other businesses!
