Getting Rid of Debt

For most of us, it happens at some time or another…CountingChange_blog

You’re casually going through your day-to-day life, making important decisions and purchases you feel are necessary at the time, and then it suddenly hits you like a ton of bricks – you’re in debt. It doesn’t take much to pile on the debt, but it certainly takes a lot to get out of it. At Avadian Credit Union, we salute those members who are trying to minimize their debt, and we are here to help!

It may sound funny to you, but one sure-fire way to alleviate and eventually eliminate your debt is by opening another loan. That’s right, but not just any loan. You want a loan that features a low interest rate with no tricky fees. You also don’t want to fall into the trap, like the example below…

The situation: Mike has been switching his balance around between credit cards but it seems like he always misses an important date. He then gets stung with big fees, and his comfy “intro APR” which lured him into the card, has now turned into a monster.

The solution: Mike applies for a personal loan at Avadian. He consolidates all his high-rate credit card balances to our one low rate. He enjoys straight payments every month and no complicated fees. To insure he never misses a payment, he even sets up automatic payment from his current Avadian account. Now the payment is sent on time, every time.

If you want to follow in Mike’s footsteps and make a serious dent in your debt, start today. Gather information regarding your outstanding loans and credit card accounts, including:

  • Name, Address and Telephone Number of any existing creditors
  • Payoff letter or recent monthly statement
  • Plus, Two Forms of Personal Identification

Present this information to one of our Financial Service Officers to get the consolidation loan process going. (You can also complete an application via the phone, 1 (888) 282-3426, or online at As soon as we receive this information, we’ll review your loan and you’ll hopefully be on your way to a debt-free life!
